Healthy Pets of Lewis Center is the newest member of the Healthy Pets of Ohio family. Healthy Pets of Lewis Center is located just off State Route 23 and Orange Road. We are proud to provide a full-service facility offering exceptional medical, surgical, boarding and grooming services to Lewis Center and the surrounding areas.
Dr. Aaron Buck grew up in Amlin, Ohio. He has always enjoyed working with animals and that drive lead him to volunteer at the Capital Area Humane Society, The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. He graduated from The Ohio State University in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He then went on to graduate from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. After graduation, he began practicing at a busy 24-hour emergency clinic in Chicago. There he developed a passion for emergency medicine, oncology and surgery, focusing on orthopedic procedures. Dr. Buck strongly believes in client education and strives to empower owners to make health decisions regarding their animals through education.
During his spare time, Dr. Buck enjoys spending time with his friends and family. He enjoys hiking and he is an avid runner, completing several half- marathons and two full marathons. Dr. Buck lives with his wife, Katie, and they share their home with their two dogs, Miloh and Marley.
Dr. Dawn Keith grew up on the east coast in Braintree, Massachusetts. She spent many years working and volunteering in shelters, animal hospitals, research labs, and in barns to gain a wealth of hands-on knowledge with all types of animals. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in animal science/pre-veterinary studies from the University of Massachusetts Amherst graduating magna cum laude in 1996. She came to Columbus to pursue her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University, graduating in 2000. After graduating, Dr. Keith married her husband Ryan, a fellow veterinary student, and started working in Mansfield, Ohio in a small animal and exotic practice. After 2 years, she came to Healthy Pets of Ohio in 2002. She has an interest in internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, dentistry and pocket pet medicine. When not in the office, she is busy at home raising four small children and their menagerie of animals. When she gets a free moment, Dr. Keith enjoys reading, running, horseback riding, crafting, gardening, and volunteering.
Dr. June Huff is a Columbus native. Born at Riverside Hospital, she grew up a Buckeye from the start. After completing her Bachelor of Science at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, she returned to Columbus to attend The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She completed her Doctorate in 2002 and graduated Magna cum laude with honors. Dr. Huff also received the Excellence in Small Animal General Practice Award. Dr. Huff joined the Healthy Pets team in June 2002. Her areas of interest include ultrasound, cytology, and internal medicine. When not chasing a toddler around the house, she enjoys art (including the pictures hanging in the lobby of our Rome-Hilliard office).
Dr. Aubrey Birkhead grew up right around the corner in Hilliard, Ohio. She graduated from The Ohio State University in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in Biology, and then went on to graduate from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. After graduation she began practicing at an emergency hospital. During her four years there she focused on emergency medicine, internal medicine and exotic animal medicine. While Dr. Birkhead loved her work at the emergency facility she decided to change to general practice. She looks forward to working more closely with her patients and form close, trusting bonds with their families. Her interests include internal and exotic animal medicine. She enjoys seeing most exotics including small mammals, birds, and reptiles.
Dr. Birkhead lives in the Dublin area where she enjoys spending time with her husband, son, daughter, and her small zoo of animals. Her menagerie includes three dogs (Aspen, Rusty, and Eddie George), one cat (Maizie), a giant tortoise (Penny),and a turtle (Leo). She enjoys cheering on her favorite teams, the Buckeye and Bengals.
