Healthy Pets has been a part of the central Ohio area since 1952 and we strive to give back to the community through various activities and events.
Healthy Pets began working with TSCR in June of 2013. TSCR is a group of dedicated volunteers committed to protecting the welfare of the Collie breed. Tri State Collie Rescue operates in several states including Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee and West Virginia. TSCR also has volunteers in Pennsylvania and Illinois. We provide TSCR dogs with boarding and medical services ranging from wellness exams to major surgeries so that when they find their forever homes, those families will have a healthy pet.
Good Samaritan Program
Over the years, Healthy Pets has established a “Good Sam” fund made possible through kind donations from current clients who would like to give back to the community. This fund was created to help current long-time clients and special cases. Because the program is funded by donations, we have an application process and guidelines for participation.
Powell Animal Welfare Society (PAWS)
Healthy Pets began our partnership with PAWS, an all-volunteer, all foster-based rescue serving the Columbus, Ohio, area in December of 2011. PAWS finds loving homes for abused, neglected and/or stray dogs from high-kill shelters in Ohio and neighboring states. We provide PAWS dogs with boarding and medical services ranging from wellness exams to major surgeries so the adopting families will have a healthy pet.
Voluntary Vets
We take pride in our veterinarians. Each year, veterinarians from Healthy Pets volunteer to vaccinate dogs through the Columbus Academy at local shelters. We also go to Pilot dogs every year to vaccinate the newly trained guide dogs. During this visit, we meet with the new owners to educate them about their new canine and answer any questions they might have.
